On April 23, during its first quarter earnings conference call, SK hynix stated, "As the memory supply shortage continues, there has been a significant increase in requests from customers to secure mid- to long-term volumes. However, due to the current supply constraints, it is not possible to accommodate all customer requests." The company added, "Unlike previous long-term agreements (LTA), we are comprehensively reviewing a variety of methods and structural alternatives."
The company further explained, "If LTAs are established stably, investment efficiency will naturally improve based on visibility of demand and stable profitability," adding, "By reducing the volatility that has repeatedly occurred in the memory industry in the past, we expect the market's assessment of the overall memory business to rise to a higher level."
