The main topic at the discussion that day was the sharp rise in oil prices caused by the Middle East war. With mounting concerns over the worsening management of fishing operations, one participant lamented, "These days, fuel prices have risen so much that there is nothing left even after going out to sea," adding, "The situation is extremely serious."
In response, candidate Kim said, "I'm not just hearing about these issues, but actually spending the night at the village hall to experience the situation firsthand." He empathized, stating, "After seeing the site in person, it is clear that the most urgent issue is reducing the burden of expenses."
He went on to reaffirm his commitment, saying, "Building on the success of the 'Half-Price Agricultural Material Support Program,' which Gangwon Province was the first among all metropolitan governments nationwide to introduce and received great response, I will strongly push for a similar 'Half-Price Fishing Material Support' initiative in the fisheries sector."

He stressed, "It is heartbreaking that the flames of the Middle East war are threatening the livelihoods of our fishermen," and added, "Through half-price support for fishing materials, I will ensure an environment where fishermen can focus on their work without worrying about fuel costs."
