The Democratic Party of Korea has finalized its candidates for the heads of basic local governments in the Jeonbuk region. However, the party announced that the final decision for Imsil County, where a "money envelope scandal" has emerged, will be made at a later date.
The Election Commission of the Democratic Party of Korea Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province announced the final results for the eight basic local government heads in the Jeonbuk region on April 22.

원본보기 아이콘The runoff results are as follows: Jo Jihoon for Jeonju City; Kim Jaejun for Gunsan City; Choi Jungho for Iksan City; Lee Haksoo for Jeongeup City; Yang Chungmo for Namwon City; Yoo Heetae for Wanju County; Jeon Chunseong for Jinan County; and Kwon Ikhyun for Buan County were the winners.
Previously, the Jeonbuk Provincial Party Election Commission had already confirmed Jeong Seongju as the candidate for Gimje City, Hwang Inhong for Muju County, Choi Hunsik for Jangsu County, Choi Youngil for Sunchang County, and Sim Deokseop for Gochang County.
