Daegu Office of Education to Recruit 13 Honorary Auditors... Participation in Educational Facility Inspections, Completion Checks, and Administrative Audits

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on April 22 that it will publicly recruit 13 members for the 9th term of its Honorary Auditors Program, aiming to enhance the fairness and transparency of audits through citizen participation.


This 9th group of Honorary Auditors will consist of 22 members, including both technical and general honorary auditors. The selected honorary auditors will directly participate in ad hoc inspections and completion checks of major facility construction projects within the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education’s jurisdiction, as well as administrative audits of schools and educational institutions. They will perform substantial audit functions by recommending improvements and requesting corrections for illegal or unjust issues identified on site.

Of the total, 9 members will be reappointed, and 13 new members will be selected through this recruitment (7 technical, 6 general). Their term of office will be two years, from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2028.


Eligible applicants must be citizens registered as residents in Daegu and must meet at least one of the following criteria: possess a professional qualification such as lawyer, certified public accountant, architect, or engineer; be a professor in a related field; serve as a school management council member (excluding education committee members) at any school in the Daegu area; or be recommended by a major local social organization.


The application period runs from April 22 to May 4, and the final selection results will be individually notified on May 8.

Through the Honorary Auditors Program, we will ensure objectivity in audit operations and establish transparent educational administration, thereby building greater trust in Daegu’s education among citizens."
