The American-style authentic handmade burger brand Billion Box is showing rapid growth, surpassing its 25th franchise location just about six months after officially launching its franchise business. This achievement comes after the company expanded its organization in July last year and announced the full-scale launch of its franchise business in September. As a result, Billion Box has quickly increased its brand awareness in the domestic burger market and is attracting attention in the startup sector.


Billion Box laid the foundation for its business by opening its flagship store in Itaewon in 2019, followed by trademark registration and the establishment of a corporation in 2020. Since 2021, it has expanded its network to various strategic locations in the greater Seoul area-including tourist districts frequented by foreigners, residential apartment complexes, and department stores-analyzing its consumer base and accumulating systematic operational know-how. Based on this experience, the company is now expanding its operations nationwide.


The headquarters of Billion Box is now actively formulating market expansion strategies to drive sales growth across franchise locations nationwide. The company has announced plans to introduce two new American-style slider menu items, tentatively named "2X Double Slider" and "Kentucky Quarter Slider," within May. In addition, Billion Box is accelerating trademark applications and launch plans for the new product brand "NUUN," which will encompass a new lineup of soft ice cream and yogurt ice cream beverages designed to strengthen its dessert drink zone and target the delivery market.


Meanwhile, with regard to franchise operations, it has been reported that some aspects of the franchise structure have been designed to reduce burdens on franchisees. The brand explained that it has structured its franchise model to combine adjustments to operating cost-related factors with cost-saving measures. In addition, the brand is said to be focusing on securing operational stability for franchisees through certain operational principles.


In the food service franchise market, both the speed of brand expansion and the stability of operational structures are important factors. In the case of Billion Box, the company has shifted from an initial strategy based on company-owned stores to franchise expansion.
