On April 22, healthcare emergency response startup Wikomet announced that it had conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for employees of HMM Ocean Service.
This training was organized to enhance employees' practical response capabilities in preparation for emergencies that may occur in the workplace. The sessions were based on the revised CPR guidelines and focused on both theory and hands-on practice.
The training took place from April 20 to 21 and was attended by approximately 170 employees of HMM Ocean Service. The main topics included: initial response procedures for cardiac arrest, reporting and coordination protocols during emergencies, instructions on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and CPR practice for adults and infants. The curriculum was designed to allow participants to experience the entire response process in realistic scenarios.
In particular, Wikomet provided real-time feedback during the training by using the Braden CPR training manikin and the Braden AED Trainer. The Braden manikin visualizes blood circulation through lighting according to chest compression depth, speed, and position, enabling trainees to intuitively check their performance. The Braden AED Trainer allows for training under lifelike conditions by automatically detecting whether the pads are attached.
Junghoon Lee, CEO of Wikomet, stated, "Since the initial response to cardiac arrest patients determines survival rates, rapid action by on-site personnel is especially critical in the workplace. We will continue to expand practical, hands-on CPR training tailored to the needs of different institutions and companies."
