Lotte Cultureworks announced on April 22 that it has signed a business agreement with production company Shonote for joint production of musicals and collaboration on performance content.
The company, which operates the Charlotte Theater, a venue dedicated exclusively to musicals, will expand its business through this agreement from theater operations into planning and producing performance intellectual property (IP).
The first project will be the musical "Siren." The two companies will collaborate across all stages including script development, casting, marketing, publicity, and overseas expansion.
"Siren" is based on the KakaoPage web novel "Siren: I Became a Contract Family Member with the Villain" and the webtoon of the same name. The combined cumulative number of views for the web novel and webtoon has reached 250 million.
Yoon Se-in, Head of the Live Business Division at Lotte Cultureworks, said, "Starting with this performance, we will plan and produce a diverse range of content."
