Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin Special City, attended the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the President of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association on the 21st, expressing his support for activities that promote women's participation in society and the realization of gender equality.

원본보기 아이콘The inauguration and retirement ceremony, held that day at the Doulos Culture Hall in Gyeonggi Women’s Center, was attended by approximately 200 people, including Mayor Lee Sang-il, executives and members of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association, and officials from related organizations.
Mayor Lee stated, “I would like to express my respect and gratitude to President Lee Geum-ja, who has led outstanding initiatives for women’s rights, social advancement, gender equality, and community care during her 23 years as President of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association from 2002 until this year. I also look forward to President Yoon Ja-hee, who has taken office as the 19th president, further developing the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association based on her active experience in local cultural and women’s organization activities.”
He continued, “The Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association has contributed greatly to guiding our society in the right direction by fostering an environment in which women can participate in diverse social activities and by working toward gender equality. That is why I always offer my support. While expressing support is important, it is equally essential to demonstrate it through action. Yongin Special City will support President Yoon Ja-hee and the activities of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association, and we will do our part.”
Yoon Ja-hee, who has been inaugurated as the 19th President of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association, has previously served as President of the Yongin Sarang Lions Club and Vice President of the association. As Deputy Director of the Yongin Cultural Center, she is also actively engaged in social initiatives for the development of the Yongin area and the advancement of women's rights.
Lee Geum-ja, who became the 10th President of the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association in 2002, served consecutive terms through the 18th presidency over approximately 23 years. During her tenure, she devoted herself to establishing the association as a key organization representing women in Gyeonggi Province and promoting their welfare.

원본보기 아이콘Founded in May 1975, the Gyeonggi Province Women’s Association has played a significant role in facilitating exchange and cooperation among women's organizations, advancing gender equality, and contributing to the development of local communities across various sectors of society.
Currently, the association has 13 provincial member organizations and 30 city and county branches. The office is located on the 2nd floor of Gyeonggi Women’s Center at 11-25, Sinjeong-ro 151beon-gil, Giheung-gu, Yongin Special City.
