The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on April 21 that, following the completion of applications for the 2026 local government official recruitment exam, a total of 932 candidates applied for 145 positions across six categories, including educational administration, resulting in an average competition ratio of 6.43 to 1.
Applications were accepted from April 13 to April 17. By category, the educational administration (general) position received 643 applications for 83 openings, resulting in a competition ratio of 7.75 to 1. For the same category, in the special recruitment section, educational administration (persons with disabilities) saw 14 applicants for 7 positions, a ratio of 2.00 to 1, while educational administration (from low-income backgrounds) received 6 applicants for 2 positions, a ratio of 3.00 to 1.
For other categories, the competition ratios were as follows: librarian, 7.78 to 1; facilities (architecture), 4.40 to 1; engineering (general machinery), 0.33 to 1; engineering (general electricity), 2.00 to 1; facility management, 6.43 to 1; and driving, 5.04 to 1.
Candidates will take the written exam on June 20. The locations for the written exam will be announced on the provincial office of education’s website on June 1, and from that date, candidates will be able to print their admission tickets.
