It is a specialized program unique to Goyang City, designed to address the work-related challenges faced by junior employees six months after their appointment, and to help them transition into "skilled staff" who can perform their duties independently.
In particular, this year, Goyang City plans to support new public officials in becoming leaders of digital administrative innovation by conducting introductory training on generative AI at an early stage, in line with the era of major AI transformation.
The Well-boarding training was held at the Goyang Human Resources Development Center in two sessions: the first from April 16 to 17 and the second from April 20 to 21, targeting a total of 55 participants.
The training focused on helping new employees transition into skilled staff by enhancing their confidence in practical work and improving their resilience. In particular, the main curriculum was adjusted to reflect the actual needs of new public officials identified through a pre-training survey, thereby enhancing the program's effectiveness.
The curriculum included: △ Sharing experiences of job changes and peer work before and after appointment △ Wise solutions to workplace mistakes and improving resilience △ Customized asset management for entry-level employees △ Planning based on logical thinking △ Report writing using generative AI △ Language use in civil complaint responses and strategies for overcoming "call phobia" (fear of phone calls).
Through these efforts, the program moved away from traditional one-way information delivery to focus on various group activities and hands-on training. The satisfaction rate was high, with an average score of 4.77 out of 5.
Park Youngsan, Director of Human Resources, stated, "Well-boarding education is a ladder that helps new public officials grow into practical talents with responsibility and expertise," adding, "We will continue to provide systematic training at each stage of growth to enhance administrative professionalism and offer high-quality services to citizens."
Meanwhile, to minimize any gaps in training, the city plans to offer a third session in July. In this session, an in-house instructor at the team leader level will deliver hands-on know-how and guidance from a senior's perspective.
