This supplementary budget is intended as a response to the central government’s measures for stabilizing people’s livelihoods. The city submitted the related budget proposal to the Anseong City Council on April 20.

This supplementary budget, structured as a one-point adjustment to address urgent livelihood issues stemming from the Middle East conflict, was coordinated in advance with the city council through pre-communication and consultation. It is scheduled to be finalized at the 239th extraordinary session of the Anseong City Council on April 28.

The core of this supplementary budget is the provision of high oil price relief payments (14.9 billion won), with up to 550,000 won to be offered to basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income families, and households in the bottom 70% income bracket starting April 27.

Additionally, the budget includes K-Pass reimbursement support (600 million won) to respond to the high oil price crisis, aiming to improve access to public transportation and mobility for citizens. As part of local public job creation, the city has also allocated 900 million won for temporary employment in the special farmland survey project.

To assist citizens and small business owners struggling with high inflation, the city has separately allocated additional funds for its own initiatives. This includes 500 million won for a special guarantee support program to ease funding difficulties for local small businesses, and 1 billion won to support the issuance of local currency and stimulate consumption, which has been dampened by rising prices.

Based on this, the city is mobilizing all administrative resources, such as operating a task force, to immediately secure the necessary funds and ensure there are no setbacks in the first round of relief application and payments beginning April 27.

A city official stated, "This emergency supplementary budget plan was prepared to prioritize the stable lives of our citizens and support the revitalization of the local economy," and added, "We will do our utmost to implement detailed policies and carry out swift execution to help overcome the current crisis."
