Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival Runs May 14-17
Winner of Both Best Festival Award and Mascot Contest

Seongju County in North Gyeongsang Province received the Grand Prize at the Korea Best Festival Awards and the Excellence Award at the Festival Mascot Contest during the 6th Korea Festival Expo, which was held at the Suwon Convention Center from April 17 to 19, 2026.

Held under the slogan "Time to Add Festivals to Everyday Life: K-Festival Expo," the 6th Korea Festival Expo was organized as a venue for exchange and communication to strengthen the competitiveness of festivals, revitalize the local tourism industry, and enhance the domestic and international competitiveness of the festival industry, especially in regions where the industry has been sluggish.

At this expo, Seongju promoted and provided hands-on experiences of its signature festival, the Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival, and actively promoted seasonal festivals through a festival mascot contest featuring Chambyeori, buyer consultations, and other events. These efforts were met with an enthusiastic response from visitors.

Meanwhile, this year’s festival will further strengthen Seongju’s unique life culture identity under the slogan "When Chamoe Flowers Bloom," and will greatly enhance life culture experience content for children and family visitors.

The county is accelerating preparations to create spaces such as a Life Theme Hall and a Life Trail, where visitors can experience the value of life’s birth and cycle. These spaces are designed to offer an environment where education, experience, and play are combined within the festival.

The "2026 Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival" will be held for four days from May 14 to 17 in the area around Seongbaksup.
