Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm, who recently visited Korea, is scheduled to meet with Jaechul Ryu, CEO of LG Electronics. As this is a meeting between a semiconductor design powerhouse and a hardware giant, expectations are rising that the two companies will further strengthen their collaboration, particularly in the field of physical artificial intelligence (AI).
According to industry sources on April 21, CEO Amon is set to hold a closed-door meeting with CEO Ryu and other key executives at a location in Seoul later this afternoon.
This meeting is interpreted as an effort to solidify technological cooperation between the two companies in the area of physical AI, which both have identified as a key driver for future growth. Previously, in 2024, CEO Amon also met with then-LG Electronics CEO William Cho, continuing his ongoing relationship with LG Electronics.

There is speculation that the two sides will discuss optimizing Qualcomm's high-performance neural processing unit (NPU) equipped processors for home appliances, in order to support LG Electronics' "empathic intelligence" strategy at the hardware level.
Collaboration between the two companies is also expected to expand in the automotive electronics sector. LG Electronics is advancing wireless communication technology to realize physical AI mobility, while also focusing on successfully launching its next-generation home robot, "LG Cloid."
Qualcomm, for its part, unveiled its high-performance robot processor, "Dragonwing IQ10," at "CES 2026," the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition held earlier this year, demonstrating its commitment to leading the vehicle AI and humanoid platform markets.
Meanwhile, during his visit to Korea, CEO Amon is also expected to meet with executives from Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.
