Kim Minseon7 Jumps from 116th to 87th in World Rankings after Domestic Tour Victory

Minseon Kim7 has climbed to 87th place in the world rankings.


In the women's weekly world golf rankings announced on April 20 (local time), she earned 1.25 points, jumping 29 spots from 116th place last week. She gained ranking points by winning the Nexen Saint Nine Masters on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour last week. It was a wire-to-wire victory, as she maintained the lead from the first round, and she became champion with a "no bogey" record over 54 holes in three rounds. The winner's prize was 180 million won.

Minseon Kim, who joined the KLPGA in May 2022, secured her second career win following her victory at the KLPGA Tour Deoksin EPC Championship held in April last year. In the current season, she tied for 18th place at her season debut, The Siena Open, finished tied for 6th in her second event, the iM Financial Open, and claimed the title in her third tournament.


Jin Young Ko (Thailand), Nelly Korda (USA), and Hyojoo Kim maintained their positions in the top three. Hannah Green (Australia), who won last week's LPGA Tour JM Eagle LA Championship in the United States, climbed three spots to rank 5th. Kim Se-young, who tied for 2nd after a playoff in the JM Eagle LA Championship, moved up one spot to 9th place.


Among Korean players, Yoo Hae-ran is ranked 13th, Choi Hye-jin is 17th, Kim A-lim is 27th, and Im Jin-hee, who tied for 2nd at the JM Eagle LA Championship, rose eight spots to 32nd. Hwang Yoo-min is 36th, Lee So-mi is 41st, Kim Min-sol is 42nd, Ko Jin-young is 43rd, Hong Jeong-min is 44th, Yoo Hyun-jo is 52nd, and Yoon Ina, who finished 4th at the JM Eagle LA Championship, climbed 15 places to 53rd.
