According to LIG Defense & Aerospace on April 21, the company is participating in the Sea Air Space 2026 maritime defense exhibition held in Maryland, U.S., from April 20 to 22 (local time). The company plans to initiate full-scale marketing activities for entry into the U.S. market starting with this exhibition.

At the event, the company has set up a joint booth with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and is presenting integrated solutions focused on maritime weapon systems. At the forefront of the booth is the 2.75-inch guided rocket "Bigung," highlighting its commitment to penetrating the U.S. market.

Bigung demonstrated its performance in the final round of the Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) conducted near Hawaii in July 2024, with all six rockets hitting their targets. Notably, Bigung recorded a 100% hit rate throughout the five-year FCT process that began in 2019, proving its technological competitiveness. This achievement is regarded as a case that demonstrated the unmanned, future operational concepts being pursued by the South Korean and U.S. navies.

In addition, the company is unveiling the 130mm ship-to-ship guided rocket "Biryeong," the CIWS-II as the last line of ship defense, and a self-destructing unmanned surface vessel. LIG Defense & Aerospace aims to highlight its capabilities as a comprehensive defense solutions provider, encompassing not only individual weapon systems but also a wide range of operational concepts.

The company is also accelerating efforts to establish a foundation for entering the U.S. market. Earlier this year, LIG Defense U.S. Inc. was established as a local subsidiary, which will serve as a base for expanding partnerships and strengthening technical cooperation. The company plans to build a U.S. supply chain system by securing sales bases and production facilities in the future.

An official from LIG Defense & Aerospace stated, "We will accelerate our entry into the U.S. market based on the guided weapon technology proven by Cheongung-II. As a trusted partner of the United States, we aim to contribute to the South Korea-U.S. alliance and lead the expansion of K-defense exports."
