HK Innoen Creates Feeding Forest for Endangered Red Pandas

HK Innoen announced on the 21st that it held an employee participation program, the "Red Panda Feeding Forest Creation Activity," for biodiversity conservation at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, on April 18.

This initiative is part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) efforts in the environmental sector, organized in collaboration with Seoul Grand Park to protect endangered wildlife. The program involves planting bamboo-the primary food source for the Class I endangered red panda-and creating an animal enrichment environment that encourages natural animal behaviors, thereby improving the habitat.

Approximately 60 employees of HK Innoen and their family members participated in the event. They planted about 270 bamboo trees, including Phyllostachys nigra and Sasa borealis, inside the red panda enclosure at Seoul Grand Park, experiencing the value of biodiversity conservation firsthand and reflecting on the importance of protecting endangered species.

HK Innoen also donated funds to Seoul Grand Park for the protection of endangered species. These funds were raised through employee-driven ESG campaigns over the past year, making the donation especially meaningful as it extended beyond a simple contribution to direct on-site activities.

The social contribution manager of the MI team at HK Innoen stated, "We designed this program so that employees could experience the meaning of biodiversity conservation together with their families," adding, "We will continue to expand our environmental social contribution activities to support ecosystem preservation and strengthen a culture of employee participation."

Meanwhile, after opening "HK Innoen Square" in February last year at the 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, HK Innoen signed an "ESG Environmental Sector Mutual Cooperation Agreement" with the city, and has since carried out various biodiversity activities. In May and June, the company plans to continue its ESG environmental initiatives by participating in biodiversity experience programs in partnership with the Pangyo Environmental Ecology Learning Center and in the Seongnam City Environment Day commemorative event.
