Financial Security Institute to Hold Financial Security Manager Qualification Exam in July

Applications Open from April 29
Qualification Exams Scheduled for July and November

On April 21, the Financial Security Institute announced that it will conduct the 2026 Financial Security Manager training program and qualification examination to foster professionals who will lead autonomous security and proactively respond to security threats arising from digital and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation.

The Financial Security Manager training consists of four subjects: financial business, financial security management systems, financial IT security, and electronic financial security. The program is offered as a six-week online course. Applications for the program can be submitted through the Financial Security Training Center website for two weeks starting from April 29.

The Financial Security Manager qualification examination will be held twice in 2026, in July (the 14th round) and November (the 15th round). Those eligible to take the exam must meet all the following requirements: be an employee of a member institution or the Financial Security Institute, have completed the training, and have at least three years of experience in information technology (IT) or information security.

Financial institutions are using the Financial Security Manager qualification program to train practical security professionals and secure specialized security personnel. Some banks actively utilize the qualification system by offering various benefits to those who obtain the Financial Security Manager certificate, such as exemption from certain subjects in the mandatory exams for promotion to IT and security leadership positions, adoption of the certificate as a standard for evaluating employee expertise, and awarding extra points in personnel evaluations.

Sangwon Park, President of the Financial Security Institute, stated, "We will continue to support the training of professionals specialized in digital finance so that financial companies can strengthen their ability to respond to new security threats such as AI."

Meanwhile, the Financial Security Manager is the only qualification in the financial sector specialized in financial security. It evaluates comprehensive understanding and practical skills in financial security policy, management, and technology. Since its first implementation in 2018, a total of 1,490 individuals have completed the training, and 412 have passed the qualification examination.
