According to a recent survey, the total amount paid on major food delivery platforms-Baedal Minjok, Coupang Eats, Yogiyo, and Ttaenggyeoyo-exceeded 3 trillion won last month. This marks the third consecutive year of growth. The average payment per person was over 120,000 won.
On April 21, WiseApp announced that a sample survey of credit card and debit card payments made by Koreans showed that the estimated payment amounts on major food delivery platforms have continued to grow for three consecutive years.
According to WiseApp·Retail, the combined estimated payment amount for the four major food delivery platforms in March 2026 was 3.03 trillion won, a 10% increase compared to 2.75 trillion won in March 2025. In addition, 24.85 million Koreans made payments on these delivery platforms in March 2026, a 7% increase from 23.27 million in the same month last year.
Individual consumption indicators also showed a steady upward trend. The average payment per person was 122,349 won, up 3% from 118,377 won a year earlier. The average number of transactions per person was 5.4, an increase of 0.4 from 5 in the same month last year.
This survey is based on estimated payment data collected by WiseApp·Retail, a real-time app and payment data market analysis solution, using Korean credit card and debit card payments on these services, as indicated in consumers' payment histories. Payments made by bank transfer, cash, or gift certificates were not included. As a result, the figures may differ from the actual sales of each company.
