Han Donghoon, former leader of the People Power Party, who recently announced his candidacy as an independent in the by-election for the Buk-gap constituency in Busan, has reportedly begun working as a lawyer after joining a law firm.

According to the legal community on April 20, Han was listed as an attorney at Daham Law Firm, located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He had already completed his registration as a lawyer with the Korean Bar Association in July of last year.

Daham Law Firm is a newly established law firm that launched last month, and reportedly includes attorneys such as Kang Taeuk, a former legal advisory committee member of the People Power Party. This is the first time Han has joined a law firm since stepping down as Minister of Justice in December 2023.

After resigning as minister, Han served as the emergency committee chair of the People Power Party and was elected party leader in July 2024, but stepped down from the position in December of the same year, immediately after the 12·3 Martial Law incident.

On April 14, Han officially registered his move to Mandeok-dong, Buk-gu, Busan, solidifying his candidacy for the Buk-gap by-election in Busan, which is likely to be held concurrently with the June 3 local elections.
