People Power Party Gyeongnam Branch Nullifies Geochang County Governor Primary... Rematch Between Gumin Oh and Ilsu Kim

The Gyeongnam Provincial Party Nomination Management Committee of the People Power Party has decided to declare the previous primary for the Geochang County Governor candidate of the 9th Nationwide Local Elections null and void, and to hold a new primary.

On April 20, the Gyeongnam Provincial Party Nomination Management Committee announced that it held its 11th meeting and resolved to invalidate the previous primary for the Geochang County Governor position. The committee decided to exclude the candidate involved in the party member list leak from the new primary and conduct a new primary between candidates Gumin Oh and Ilsu Kim.

The Nomination Management Committee added that it plans to take strict disciplinary measures, including expulsion, against the party association's office manager in connection with this matter.

This decision is seen as a response to the controversy over fairness that arose following allegations of a party member list leak. As a result, attention from the local political community regarding the selection of the Geochang County Governor candidate is expected to intensify.

Meanwhile, the Gyeongnam Provincial Party branch of the People Power Party will announce the schedule and details of the new primary at a later date.
