On the 20th, Namyangju City announced that it had finished the "In-Person Review for Child-Friendly City Certification," organized by the Korean Committee for UNICEF, at the city hall's Running N Lounge.

This review is the final evaluation stage for the UNICEF Child-Friendly City certification. The city underwent a comprehensive assessment of its policy commitment and implementation capacity, with particular focus on areas for improvement identified during the written review.

The city participated in the evaluation by emphasizing the strengthening of systems to reflect children's rights across all administrative sectors and establishing a sustainable foundation for child-friendly policies.

The review was conducted via video conference. Participants included Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, the Director of the Women and Children Affairs Division, and officials from the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

The Director of the Women and Children Affairs Division presented the city's progress on child-friendly city initiatives and addressed the supplementary points from the written review. Mayor Joo Gwangdeok then took part in an executive interview, outlining the city's vision and policy direction for a child-friendly city, after which the review concluded with a working-level discussion.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "This review served as an opportunity to confirm that Namyangju City has established both policies and administrative systems to genuinely guarantee children's rights," adding, "We will continue to create an environment where children can grow up safely and happily, further strengthening the foundation for 'Child-Friendly Namyangju.'
