At 9:30 a.m. that day, President Lee visited the Gandhi Memorial Park in New Delhi and wrote in the guestbook, "I hope that the whole world will be filled with peace through Mahatma Gandhi’s spirit of peace, and I will work together to achieve this." President Lee, accompanied by First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, laid a wreath at the memorial and listened to an explanation from an Indian government official.

Before the wreath-laying ceremony, the presidential couple attended an official welcoming event prepared by the Indian government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu of India personally greeted President Lee and the First Lady. President Lee then reviewed the Indian honor guard and took commemorative photos with a welcoming group dressed in traditional attire.
