To reduce the stress of retrieving luggage at airports and prevent theft, suitcase covers featuring comical photos of their owners are gaining popularity.
According to international media outlets such as NDTV on April 17 (local time), a recent video of a family gathered in front of an airport baggage carousel has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, each family member is carrying a suitcase wrapped with a blown-up or humorous photo of their own face.
The video has garnered more than one million views, creating a buzz online. Netizens praised the idea, calling it "extremely funny and surprisingly clever."
One user joked, "If I print my passport photo on my suitcase, not even a thief-let alone airport staff-would dare come near my bag." Another commented, "No one could ever steal that bag." Other reactions included, "People around you would probably let you know first when your bag comes out," "I salute this ingenious method. That suitcase is now getting VIP-level protection," "It's easy to lose a name tag, but this method will never be forgotten," and "I really want to try this myself."
These so-called "face covers" are not just for fun. They help reduce the fatigue of finding luggage at airports and can effectively prevent mix-ups, theft, or loss caused by the uniform designs of most suitcases.
The media outlet explained, "Currently, several companies are offering custom suitcase covers using personal photos, making it easier than ever to turn an ordinary suitcase into something instantly recognizable. The more striking and unique the photo, the easier it becomes to find your luggage among the many bags."
