Lotte Chemical to Showcase 'Specialty Strategy' at China's Largest Plastics Exhibition

Lotte Chemical is participating in Chinaplas 2026, Asia’s largest plastics industry exhibition, where it will unveil its future business portfolio centered on the competitiveness of high-value specialty materials.

Lotte Chemical announced that it will operate an exhibition hall under the theme "Forward Momentum" at the event, which will be held in Shanghai, China, from April 21 to April 24.

This exhibition consists of five themed zones: ▲High-Performance Tech ▲Empowering Industry ▲Advanced Mobility ▲Smart Living ▲Sustainable Materials.

In the High-Performance Tech zone, high-functionality materials used in the IT and semiconductor industries will be showcased. For the first time, the company will unveil electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection materials and tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) for semiconductor manufacturing, along with Super EP (high-performance engineering plastic) materials used in ultra-compact camera modules and smartwatches. These materials are next-generation, high-performance materials with the potential for expansion into physical AI (physics-based artificial intelligence) and the aerospace industry in the future.

The Empowering Industry zone will introduce functional material solutions applied across various industries. A wide range of products will be exhibited, including polyethylene (PE) for bulletproof vests, polypropylene (PP) for insulation films, syringes, and waterproof sheets, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) for solar panels, and flame-retardant acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) for electronic circuit board cases.

The Advanced Mobility zone will emphasize Lotte Chemical’s competitiveness in mobility materials. The company will showcase exterior materials and color design solutions tailored for autonomous driving and vehicle electrification, as well as key materials for lithium-ion batteries such as copper foil, aluminum foil, separator materials, and organic electrolytes. In addition, flame-retardant materials to limit battery fire propagation, as well as tray materials for transportation and storage, will be introduced.

In the Smart Living zone, materials closely tied to daily life will be on display. These include high-density polyethylene (HDPE), expanded polypropylene (EPP), and highly transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) materials, as well as highly transparent, chemical-resistant ABS for robot vacuum water tanks, SAN/GF (styrene acrylonitrile reinforced with glass fiber) for HVAC fans, and paint-free color solutions for washing machine exteriors, among various application examples.

The Sustainable Materials zone will feature high-quality recycled materials produced through both mechanical and chemical recycling of waste plastics, as well as high-performance cellulose-based materials from Lotte Fine Chemical.
