A video showing a woman assaulting an employee at a domestic burger franchise after being refused a drink refill is rapidly spreading online, sparking public outrage.

On April 20, various social networking services (SNS) shared a video titled "Moms Touch Customer Causing Trouble." According to the footage, the incident began when a female customer demanded a drink refill.

Enraged by Refill Refusal... Flipped Over Counter and Assaulted Female Employee

When the store refused her refill request, citing company policy, the woman immediately began shouting loudly and strongly protesting. She then threw objects around the counter and hurled abusive language at the staff, causing a disturbance.

Apparently still not satisfied, the woman entered the staff-only area and committed acts of violence. The video clearly shows her chasing after a female employee and striking her in the face as the employee tried to escape. The incident reportedly ended when another customer in the restaurant called the police, who responded to the scene.

"Spilled Drink Intentionally, Then Demanded Refill"... Witnesses and Staff Testify

The person who filmed and uploaded the situation claimed, "The woman intentionally knocked over her cup of cola on the table, then demanded a refill. When refused, she proceeded to assault the staff unilaterally."

An employee who was present at the scene also explained the situation in the comments. He stated, "I am the male employee in the video," and added, "This happened in October last year, but I don't know why it's only now gaining attention."

He went on, "The female customer was already angry and speaking rudely from the moment she placed her order. After ordering a set menu, she took her drink to the table, deliberately spilled it, and then demanded a refill."

He added, "When we refused the refill, she caused a disturbance just as shown in the video. While I went to lock the door to prevent her from escaping, the female employee was attacked, and my biggest regret is not being able to stop it."

Possible Charges: Assault and Obstruction of Business

Meanwhile, striking an employee in the face constitutes assault under criminal law, and depending on the degree of harm, injury charges may also apply. Throwing objects inside the store can result in property damage charges, and disrupting the business may lead to prosecution for obstruction of business.
