On Monday, April 20, which marks "Gogu"-the solar term when spring rain is said to enrich the fields-the entire country is expected to be mostly cloudy, with intermittent spring rain falling in most regions from morning to afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Jeju Island will see rain until late afternoon, while parts of central Korea (excluding the eastern coast of Gangwon), North Jeolla, northern South Jeolla, and inland areas of North and South Gyeongsang will experience rain at some point between morning and afternoon. In the early morning, there may also be light drizzle, less than 0.1 mm, in the Chungcheong area and eastern North Jeolla. The expected precipitation amounts are as follows: Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and the five West Sea Islands-less than 5 mm; inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon-less than 5 mm; Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, and North Chungcheong-less than 5 mm; Gwangju, northern South Jeolla, and North Jeolla-less than 5 mm; Daegu, inland North Gyeongsang, northeastern mountainous areas, and inland South Gyeongsang-less than 5 mm; and Jeju Island (from the 19th)-5 to 20 mm.

Morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs reaching 16 to 25 degrees. Morning temperatures will remain higher than the seasonal average (lows of 5 to 11 degrees), but by afternoon, high temperatures will be similar to the seasonal average (highs of 17 to 22 degrees). Daytime highs are expected to be as follows: Seoul, 19 degrees; Incheon, 16 degrees; Gangneung, 24 degrees; Daejeon, 19 degrees; Daegu, 23 degrees; Gwangju, 19 degrees; Busan, 21 degrees; and Jeju, 20 degrees.
Fine dust levels are forecast to be "bad" in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, Gwangju, North Jeolla, and Jeju, while other regions will see "moderate" levels. From the afternoon, the concentration of fine dust is expected to rise further due to yellow dust being carried in by northwesterly winds.
