On April 19 (local time), Iran demanded that the United States lift its maritime blockade ahead of the second round of talks.
On this day, Tasnim News, citing internal sources, reported, "Iran has not yet decided to send a negotiating delegation," and added, "As long as the (U.S.) maritime blockade continues, there will be no negotiations."
The source explained, "After the first round of negotiations between Iran and the United States, the two sides have continued to exchange messages in recent days through the mediation of Pakistan."
The source further said, "These exchanges are essentially a continuation of the procedures that took place during the first round of negotiations," and pointed out, "It was this very process-driven by the United States' excessive demands and ambitions-that ultimately led to the breakdown of negotiations."
The source added, "After these negotiations ended, Pakistan very recently conveyed another message," and stated, "The Iranian negotiating team emphasized to Pakistan that 'as long as the maritime blockade declared by Trump against Iran remains in place, there will be no negotiations.'"
Meanwhile, Tasnim News is known as a media outlet representing Iran's military and hardline factions.
