Changwon Fire Headquarters in South Gyeongsang Province held the "2026 Changwon City General Public Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Contest" in the headquarters' main conference room.
The contest, which took place on April 17, was organized to give ordinary citizens the opportunity to practice CPR and to provide them with the chance to save lives in emergency situations.

The competition featured four teams of students and general citizens, totaling 24 participants. This year, the team "Daesan Hero," composed of students from Daesan High School, claimed victory. Daesan Hero received the highest honor due to their excellence in overall evaluation, including stage performance and teamwork.
The General Public CPR Contest has been hosted annually by the National Fire Agency since 2012. This year's national contest will be held in May at the Government Sejong Convention Center, with separate divisions for students/youth and for university/general participants.
The students from Daesan High School who won in Changwon this year will compete in the youth division.
Fire Chief Lee Sanggi stated, "CPR is a vital skill that can mean the difference between life and death, depending on the time and circumstances. Through this contest, we aim to raise awareness of its importance among citizens and take the lead in providing more people with opportunities to utilize CPR in their daily lives."
