On the 19th, Jung, together with the candidates, visited Moran Traditional 5-Day Market in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and said, “Ever since President Lee Jaemyung took office, stock prices have been rising, people are eager to watch the news, and smiles have returned to our faces. In order for President Lee to continue doing a good job, which side needs to win in this local election?”

He went on to praise the two candidates as “the most competitive candidates, selected through the fastest and most democratic procedures.”

However, he also cautioned against complacency within the party, saying, “If we act and speak as if victory is already assured, it could cause public discontent and anger. We must always approach the public with humility and listen to the hearts of the people.”

Chu pledged, “With the governor, the mayor, and the president forming one team and working closely with the party, we will quickly deliver solutions for people’s livelihoods. I promise to make this local election one that protects both democracy and the lives of ordinary citizens.”

Kim stated, “President Lee Jaemyung worked with merchants to transform Moran Market, once filled with slaughterhouses, into a modern marketplace. Now, every five days, people from across the country visit Moran Market. I, Kim Byungwook, will faithfully carry on Lee Jaemyung’s style of pragmatic politics and administration and make it a reality.”

Also joining the campaign that day were Democratic Party lawmakers Kim Taenyon and Lee Sujin, as well as Kim Yong, former deputy head of the Democratic Research Institute, who is considered a potential candidate for the upcoming by-elections for National Assembly members from the Gyeonggi region.

Kim Yong, who recently announced his intention to run in the by-elections, said, “As I am currently working in Gyeonggi Province, I hope my constituency will be selected in Gyeonggi Province.”
