Presided over by Vice Mayor Hwang Joon-gi, the city shared the progress of each department and the results of on-site inspections with relevant organizations such as the police and fire departments, and discussed practical response measures for summer natural disasters.

The city has designated the period from May 15 to October 15 as the "Summer Natural Disaster Countermeasure Period" and will begin full-scale preparations for proactive responses to typhoons, heavy rain, heat waves, and lightning.

During this period, the city will operate the Disaster and Safety Situation Room 24 hours a day. It plans to provide citizens with real-time weather updates through the disaster forecasting and warning system. ICT-based disaster prevention measures in each sector, utilizing CCTV and flood detection alarm devices, will also be strengthened.

The city has designated a total of 119 locations, including semi-basement housing and other residentially vulnerable areas, as intensive management zones for potential casualties, and plans to strengthen a field-oriented safety management system to reduce personal injury.

In addition, the city will encourage the rapid completion of major tasks at key construction sites before the monsoon season and enhance pre-inspections of private sites, such as apartment construction sites and urban development projects.

A Yongin City official stated, "Thorough preparation to safeguard the lives and safety of citizens is more important than anything else," and added, "We will strengthen disaster response capabilities through public-private cooperation, and make every effort to protect vulnerable groups and prevent heat-related illnesses."
