Geumcheon-gu will be accepting applications from April 20 to 30 for the “Dahamtogether Chanchanchan” side dish voucher program, which is designed to support healthy eating habits among low-income, middle-aged single-person households.
“Dahamtogether Chanchanchan” is a specialized welfare initiative developed by Geumcheon-gu to provide balanced meal support and alleviate social isolation. The program targets 800 low-income, middle-aged (ages 50-64) single-person households residing in the district. Selected recipients will receive support for six months, from July to December this year.

The voucher is automatically credited to a dedicated card on the first of each month and can be used to purchase side dishes at 32 participating stores, mostly located near the traditional markets in Siheung 1-dong and Doksan 3-dong. Applications must be submitted in person at the community service center corresponding to the applicant’s address. Final recipients will be confirmed through eligibility review and selection procedures.
The district expects this program to address nutritional imbalances and reduce the burden of meal preparation, as well as to help mitigate feelings of isolation and prevent solitary deaths by encouraging more frequent outings to participating stores. It also aims to boost local consumption, increase sales for small businesses, and revitalize the neighborhood economy.
A district official stated, “Dahamtogether Chanchanchan is more than just a meal support program; it is a community-based welfare initiative that takes care of neighbors’ lives. We will continue to expand inclusive welfare policies that ensure no one is left behind, so that every resident is happy and the local economy is invigorated.”
