This meeting marked the first official occasion where all four candidates gathered together after the primary, signifying their intent to move beyond the fierce intra-party competition and unite for victory in the main election and the development of Gwangmyeong.
During the meeting, Seungwon Park stated, "The primary was intense, but our desire to make Gwangmyeong a better city and our commitment to the values of the Democratic Party are the same. Now, the competition is over, and it is time for us to work together for the victory of the Democratic Party and the future of Gwangmyeong."
He continued, "This one-team declaration is a responsible decision for the future of Gwangmyeong. I want to thank Youngjun Kim, Sunghwan An, and Iwonyoung Yang for joining this cause." He added, "I will deeply honor the intentions of the candidates who competed in the primary with me and prepare for the main election with even greater humility."
Seungwon Park emphasized, "Gwangmyeong is now at a crucial turning point. Over the next four years, issues such as redevelopment and reconstruction, transportation innovation, laying the foundation for future industries, and the Phase 3 new city project will be more important than ever. When the Democratic Party unites as one, both victory for Gwangmyeong and a competent local government that protects the lives of citizens are possible."
The three candidates who attended the meeting also expressed their agreement on the importance of a local government that supports both the Democratic Party's victory in the main election and the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration, pledging to rally their support around Seungwon Park.
Moving forward, Seungwon Park plans to broadly incorporate the pledges and policies of the candidates who participated in the primary throughout the main election process, aiming to reach the citizens of Gwangmyeong with a broader and stronger Democratic Party One-Team system.
Seungwon Park declared, "Victory in Gwangmyeong is victory for the Democratic Party and will provide robust support for the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration. The changes we have brought to Gwangmyeong together with the citizens will now be further realized through the power of the Democratic Party One-Team."
