Shortly after being confirmed as the People Power Party's candidate for Seoul Mayor on this day, Mayor Oh held a press conference at the party's central headquarters in Yeouido, emphasizing, "This local election is not the usual election held every four years, but the final battleground to restore the rule of law and maintain the balance of democracy."

He said, "You must have been greatly concerned due to the failures of conservative politics to fulfill their responsibilities. I, too, feel a deep sense of responsibility. However, even if a company is on the brink of bankruptcy, it must retain at least one competent employee to transform itself into an innovative enterprise." He continued, "If I achieve victory through the great choice of the citizens, I will regard it as a stern mandate to rebuild the opposition party. I will stand at the forefront of the conservative reformation and devote myself to the end with unwavering resolve."

Mayor Oh also criticized the government and the ruling party. He stated, "The real estate chaos we are witnessing today is not the fault of anyone else, but a repeat of what the Democratic Party administration did five years ago." He added, "During the ten years of Democratic Party governance in Seoul, when redevelopment and reconstruction were demonized, housing supply entered an ice age, and left-wing civic groups used Seoul City as an ATM."

Regarding Democratic Party Seoul mayoral candidate Jeong Won-oh, Oh said, "As Jeong's philosophy and views about Seoul-the heart of South Korea's future-are gradually being revealed, I believe Seoul citizens will make a wise judgment. I also believe Jeong's administrative philosophy will ultimately tie him down."

Mayor Oh presented five major visions for 'Seoul, the Special City for a Warmer and Healthier Quality of Life': ▲ Seoul that grows together ▲ Seoul where citizens have homes ▲ Seoul with no gap in mobility rights ▲ Seoul as a healthy city ▲ Seoul Tour-nomics, enhancing the tourism industry.
