U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will soon release intriguing materials related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
According to Reuters on April 17 (local time), President Trump stated at the Turning Point USA event, a conservative-leaning organization held in Arizona that day, "I have found a lot of very interesting documents." He added, "Once the first release begins soon, you will be able to see for yourselves whether these phenomena are real."
Previously, in February, President Trump ordered the federal government to review and release government documents related to UFOs, extraterrestrial life, and unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). This directive was issued shortly after a podcast interview by former President Barack Obama in which he stated, "Aliens exist."
After former President Obama sparked controversy by acknowledging the existence of aliens, he clarified, "Because the universe is so vast, statistically, the likelihood of life existing somewhere is high." However, President Trump accused him of "leaking classified information."
The U.S. government continues to maintain that there is no evidence that extraterrestrial life has visited or crashed on Earth. In a report published in 2024, it was concluded that post-World War II government investigations found no proof of alien technology, and that most sightings were determined to be misidentified ordinary objects or natural phenomena.
