Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X (formerly Twitter) that, "Reflecting the Lebanon ceasefire situation, we will allow the passage of all merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz for the remainder of the ceasefire period."

However, Minister Araghchi explained that, "(Merchant vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz) must follow the 'designated route' previously announced by Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization."

The passage route through the Strait of Hormuz referred to by Iran indicates the path beside Iran's Larak Island, rather than the conventional route near Musandam, Oman.

Previously, on the 16th, Israel and Lebanon agreed to a 10-day ceasefire through U.S. mediation.
