Chief Oh is suspected of having played golf recently with a policy advisory committee member of the Gunsan Coast Guard. According to internal regulations of the Coast Guard, playing golf with a person related to one's duties is prohibited, regardless of who covers the costs. In unavoidable cases, prior reporting is mandatory.

An official from the West Sea Coast Guard Headquarters stated, "We made this decision based on the judgment that it would be difficult for him to perform his duties normally due to inappropriate behavior," and added, "We will conduct a thorough investigation at the headquarters level into the allegations, and if any violations are confirmed, we will take strict action."
