On April 17, Hwaseong City held the "2035 Hwaseong Urban Management Plan Revision Establishment Project Kickoff Meeting" in the city hall situation room, where participants discussed systematic urban management strategies reflecting rapidly changing urban conditions.

During the meeting, participants shared the background for the project, the scope of work, and the future schedule. They also exchanged opinions on the direction of the revision to promote balanced development and a sustainable urban structure throughout Hwaseong City. In particular, they agreed on the need to establish an urban management plan that realistically reflects changes in land use conditions, the characteristics of each living area, and future urban development demands through a comprehensive review.

Through this project, the city aims to proactively respond to changes in urban planning conditions and to more efficiently reorganize land use and spatial structure closely related to citizens’ daily lives. Additionally, based on upper-level plans, relevant legal frameworks, regional situation analysis, and sectoral reviews, Hwaseong City plans to draw up a practical revision proposal for the urban management plan.

Sanggil Lee, Acting Deputy Mayor of Hwaseong Special City, stated, "We must efficiently revise the urban management plan so that it thoroughly reflects changes in our city's circumstances and results in a rational, systematic urban plan that citizens can truly feel." He further requested, "Please ensure that the project is implemented thoroughly so that the revision matches Hwaseong Special City's elevated status."

Hwaseong Special City plans to complete the new plan by the second half of 2028, following procedures such as basic surveys, consultations with relevant agencies, collecting opinions from residents and the city council, and deliberation by the Urban Planning Committee.
