This weekend, the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions are expected to see rain through Saturday morning, after which the weather will gradually clear up. Warm spring weather with daytime highs reaching up to 25 degrees Celsius is forecast to continue.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on April 17, rain is expected across Gwangju and the entire Jeonnam area until tomorrow morning (the 18th). The expected rainfall amounts are 5 to 30 mm for the southern coast of Jeonnam, and 5 to 10 mm for Gwangju and other parts of Jeonnam.
The rain is forecast to gradually stop starting tomorrow morning, with clear skies expected from the afternoon. On Sunday, the 19th, high pressure is expected to bring clear and pleasant weather throughout the day.
Temperatures will remain higher than the seasonal average (morning lows of 5 to 10 degrees, daytime highs of 18 to 22 degrees). Tomorrow, the morning low will range from 12 to 15 degrees, with daytime highs between 19 and 25 degrees. On the 19th, daytime temperatures are expected to reach 21 to 25 degrees, creating ideal spring weather for outdoor activities, according to the meteorological agency official.
However, caution is advised regarding safety accidents along the coast and at sea. Until dawn tomorrow, strong winds with instantaneous speeds of around 15 meters per second are expected along the southern coast of Jeonnam, and waves in the southwestern sea off the southern coast are forecast to reach up to 2.5 meters.
An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration stated, "Until Saturday morning, some roads may be slippery due to rain, but from the afternoon, the weather will clear up and outdoor activities should not be significantly affected." The official also advised, "However, as the temperature difference between day and night will widen, please take care of your health during this transitional season."
