Game creations developed by students at Tongmyong University as part of a project have attracted attention by being commercialized as paid services.

Tongmyong University announced on the 17th that students from the Department of Game Graphics in the School of Game Studies have achieved the milestone of advancing their creations, which began as a game jam project, all the way to commercialization.

This achievement originated from the 'Mach Game Jam,' which was held in January based on the RISE project. A game jam is a project-based program in which teams are formed to develop a game within a limited period. It was operated as a practical, industry-focused education program where students completed prototypes together with industry experts.

“Surviving a Drinking Party,” developed by students Kim Yeojoon and Jo Seri, is a work that improved its completeness based on ideas derived from the game jam. The game features a strategic play style that combines a “sober up” button to control the drunkenness gauge, various choices, and mini-game elements.

After continuous development, this game was officially released as a paid service on the global game platform Verse8. Verse8, the industry partner, provided support not only for development but also for marketing and platform integration, allowing the students to experience the full process from planning and development to promotion and launch.

Department head Seo Mira stated, “This is a meaningful case where a game jam idea has led to actual commercialization,” adding, “We will continue to support student creations so that they can gain market competitiveness through university-industry collaboration.”

The School of Game Studies at Tongmyong University is expanding project-based education through game jams and has been offering the “Mach Game Sprint” course since the first semester of 2026.
