Gijang County, Busan Launches Naming Contest for Jeonggwan Edupark Auditorium

Applications Accepted Until April 30 Ahead of June Opening

Gijang County is launching a naming contest ahead of the opening of the Jeonggwan Edupark Auditorium.

On April 17, Gijang County announced that it will hold a public contest until April 30 to select a name for the auditorium inside Jeonggwan Edupark, which is scheduled to open on June 26. This contest has been organized to reflect the facility's identity through resident participation, and to foster community pride and a sense of connection to the region.

The Jeonggwan Edupark Auditorium, located on Mojon-ro in Jeonggwan-eup, is a multipurpose cultural space with a total floor area of 2,115 square meters, spanning from one basement level to two floors above ground, and equipped with 626 seats.

All residents of Gijang County are eligible to participate in the contest, with a limit of one entry per person. Participants must complete the application form and consent to the collection and use of personal information, and submit their entry via Naver Form, email, mail, fax, or in person. The required forms can be found by searching for 'Jeonggwan Edupark' on the 'Notices' section of the Gijang County website.

The county plans to select a name that is memorable, unique, and reflective of local characteristics and the facility's function through a contest evaluation committee. The results will be announced on the Gijang County website in May.

Jung Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, stated, "Once the Jeonggwan Edupark Auditorium opens, residents will be able to enjoy performances, lectures, and various events close to home. I hope there will be great interest and participation in the naming contest for what will become a new local landmark."

Jeonggwan Edupark is a complex educational and cultural facility consisting of one basement level and four above-ground floors. It houses a children's library, lifelong learning center, community culture center, youth center, English hub center, academic counseling office, youth center 'Cheong:Ryujang,' an all-together childcare center, and other facilities. After a trial operation, it is scheduled for official opening on June 26.
