The school complex facility project is an initiative led by the Ministry of Education to improve educational and cultural conditions in urban-rural areas facing difficulties due to population decline.

The city Office of Education, the Ministry of Education, and Gwangsan-gu will jointly invest 6 billion won to build a multi-purpose cultural facility with a total floor area of 1,476 square meters by 2028.

In particular, a variety of facilities will be established, including a shared cafe, makerspace, e-sports room, VR experience room, fitness area, lifelong education room, and small performance hall. These will be accessible not only to students but also to local residents.

Students will be able to move beyond conventional subject-centered standardized learning and engage in creative and convergent learning by utilizing the makerspace, VR experience room, and e-sports room. Local residents will be able to communicate and participate in health-promoting activities through the shared cafe and fitness area.

The city Office of Education expects that this project will lay the foundation for the joint growth of education and the community, as well as help the school transform into an open space for coexistence with the local area.

Junsu Park, Director of Administration, stated, "We will successfully establish a future-oriented, converged space that both students and residents can enjoy," adding, "We will actively work to expand school complex facilities that reflect the needs of the local community."
