The two sides shared their respective efforts to address the challenges arising from energy supply and price volatility amid the current situation in the Middle East. They also noted that the efforts to strengthen economic security in each country have become even more crucial in light of the energy supply chain crisis triggered by developments in the Middle East.

In particular, both agreed that during such serious economic security crises, it is essential for like-minded and mutually trustworthy countries such as Korea and the EU to cooperate closely and coordinate their actions. They therefore emphasized the need for an inter-agency economic security consultation channel, with the comprehensive participation of major economic security ministries from both Korea and the EU.

The two sides also exchanged views on the overall international situation beyond the Middle East. The Blue House stated, "The government will continue to work with the EU to strengthen economic security, including in the supply of key minerals and the overall supply chain, amid the rapidly changing global landscape and resource security crises such as those posed by the situation in the Middle East."
