Hadong County Completes Jingyo-myeon Administrative and Cultural Complex Town

"First Step Toward 'Jingyo, Central City of the Southern Coast'"
Administrative, Welfare, Cultural, and Sports Functions Integrated in One Place

Hadong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on April 17 that it held a completion ceremony for the Jingyo-myeon Administrative and Cultural Complex Town, marking the first project of the "Jingyo, Central City of the Southern Coast" initiative.

The completion ceremony took place at the Jingyo-myeon Administrative and Cultural Complex Town site, with more than 500 people in attendance, including key dignitaries and local residents, who gathered to celebrate the launch of this new regional hub.

This project serves as a core infrastructure for the "Jingyo, Central City of the Southern Coast" initiative, which is being promoted with an overall investment of KRW 230 billion. The complex has been developed as a lifestyle-oriented, multi-functional space that integrates administrative, welfare, cultural, and sports functions.

The new Administrative and Cultural Complex Town replaces the previous aging government building and consists of three stories above ground, with a total floor area of 1,484 square meters. In addition to enhanced administrative work functions, the new facility significantly expands spaces for resident interaction and convenience.

The first floor houses a cafeteria for residents to relax and interact. The second floor contains administrative workspaces and counseling rooms. The third floor is equipped with both large and small conference rooms, making it suitable for meetings, educational sessions, cultural programs, and a variety of community activities.

The newly built Mindari Complex Center, also three stories above ground with a total floor area of 2,472 square meters, is equipped with lifestyle sports facilities including a swimming pool and fitness center. Residents will now be able to manage their health and enjoy leisure activities close to home, and the space is also expected to be used for a range of educational, group, and event activities.

In particular, the Administrative and Cultural Complex Town has drawn attention as a "compact lifestyle infrastructure" by connecting with existing public facilities such as the public health center and cultural center. This integration is expected to reduce the inconvenience of having to use multiple facilities separately and enable residents to access a variety of services in one place.

Additionally, the new complex will share its living sphere with ongoing projects such as the Jingyo Library, Jingyo Residents’ Plaza, General Jeong Gi-ryong Memorial Plaza, Southern Hadong Senior Welfare Center, Southern Hadong Youth Center, Jingyo Park Golf Course, and the Jingyo Market Seafood Specialty Street. This is expected to create synergistic effects that will revitalize the region.

Hadong County plans to further develop Jingyo as a central living hub in the southern region, starting with this completion. Efforts to improve residential conditions will also be promoted, including demolition of livestock facilities in the Pyeongdang district, underground utility projects, and expansion of public parking lots.

An official from the county stated, "The Jingyo-myeon Administrative and Cultural Complex Town is not just the completion of a facility, but the starting point for the region’s future as a 'compact and attractive city.' We expect that the small gatherings and activities that take place here will lead to significant changes for the community."

Meanwhile, the Mindari Complex Center will begin operations on April 20, and the Jingyo-myeon Administrative Welfare Center is scheduled for its official opening on April 27.
