In recognition of Disabled Persons Day, the case of employment for people with disabilities at Hanwha Group’s financial affiliates, which have implemented a “co-growth employment model,” is drawing attention.

Hanwha Financial is continuously expanding employment through the discovery of diverse roles and improvement of the work environment, following the principle that “employing people with disabilities is not just about meeting a quota, but about creating a structure where all members of the organization can grow together.”
As of this month, Hanwha Financial’s six affiliates are required to employ 294 people with disabilities. However, the number of employees with disabilities has reached 319, surpassing the requirement. All are directly employed by the company.
By company, Hanwha Life has 101 employees with disabilities, Hanwha Life Financial Services 49, Hanwha General Insurance 113, Hanwha Investment & Securities 40, Hanwha Asset Management 12, and Hanwha Savings Bank 4. Each affiliate thus meets or exceeds the mandatory employment standard.
Notably, Hanwha Life became the first in the insurance sector in 2023 to achieve a mandatory employment rate for people with disabilities of 3.1%. This rate was further increased to 3.3% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025, and 3.6% in April 2026. Hanwha Life Financial Services also recorded a rate of 3.3% this year, surpassing its legal obligation.
Based on these achievements, Hanwha Life and Hanwha Life Financial Services were each awarded the “True Company” Minister’s Award from the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2024 and last year, respectively.
The core of Hanwha Financial’s employment policy for people with disabilities lies in “job design.” Instead of simply assigning employees to routine tasks, the company provides tailored roles that consider both the individual’s disability and the organization’s needs, thus allowing for meaningful participation.
Currently, there are 319 employees with disabilities working across Hanwha Financial. Specialized roles linked to employee welfare-such as baristas (in in-house cafes), library assistants, nail care specialists, language class assistants, and healthcare assistants (call center healthcare services)-are being continuously expanded.
The in-house cafe at Hanwha Life is operated by 16 baristas, who provide high-quality beverages. Compared to previous outsourcing, sales have increased more than fourfold.
Hanwha Life Financial Services and Hanwha General Insurance have introduced nail care specialist positions, offering stable employment. Nail care specialists with hearing impairments are able to communicate naturally with employees through creative design planning and service, resulting in high satisfaction levels.
Additionally, Hanwha General Insurance supports designers with disabilities to work remotely in producing marketing content, thus enabling them to maintain their professional expertise without career interruptions.
Hanwha Investment & Securities operates a language class assistant role. Currently, seven employees participate in online English education, helping with attendance and progress management, lesson support, and organizing educational feedback for students.
Hanwha Financial is also running a variety of communication programs in celebration of Disabled Persons Day.
Hanwha Life, ahead of Disabled Persons Day, held a “One Team Plus Day” event on April 13, offering a cultural experience program for employees with disabilities and granting them recognition leave, thereby strengthening a culture of empathy within the organization.
On April 8, Hanwha Life Financial Services held a commemorative event involving nail care specialists with disabilities and related organizations. The company is also expanding its disability-friendly organizational culture through the production of recruitment promotional videos and the granting of recognition leave.
Hanwha Financial plans to continue identifying new job opportunities for people with disabilities in digital-based and specialized positions and to create a highly satisfactory work environment through ongoing improvements.
Kim Jeongsu, Head of the HR Strategy Office at Hanwha Life, stated, “The employment of people with disabilities is not just a matter of social contribution, but a critical factor for corporate competitiveness,” adding, “We will continue to spread an inclusive employment model under our management philosophy of ‘Growing Together, Going Far Together.’”
