This marks a rapid increase compared to the initial period, when it took about six months to reach 100,000 passengers. The city government believes that the Hangang Bus has quickly established itself as a popular waterborne public transportation option.

The Hangang Bus officially launched on September 18, 2025, operated a no-passenger pilot service in October, and from November 2025 through February 2026, operated partially only on the Magok-Yeouido section. Since last month, it has been running full routes from Magok to Yeouido and Jamsil.

In a passenger survey conducted after the resumption of full-route service, approximately 96% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the Hangang Bus, reaffirming the high level of satisfaction. About 94% said they would recommend the service to others, and 89% indicated their intention to use it again.

Park Jinyoung, Director of Seoul's Future Hangang Headquarters, stated, "Since the resumption of full-route operations, the number of passengers has increased rapidly, confirming the potential for the Hangang Bus to be established as a waterborne public transportation option. We will continue to improve our services and develop a variety of related content to ensure that both citizens and tourists can conveniently use this mode of transportation."
