Cosmos Effect, which operates the pet lifecycle-based membership platform ‘Pawpet,’ announced on the 17th that it has acquired SOL Corporation, a company specializing in pet care.
Pawpet, used by 450,000 pet-owning families, is a pet platform that started with a mobile service for pet identity registration and now integrates services essential for pet parenting, such as insurance and commerce. With this acquisition, Pawpet will strengthen its in-house commerce product lineup and expand its business into specialized pet care management.
SOL Corporation, which operates its own brand ‘SOLCOPET’, focuses on basic care products for pets such as shampoos and toothpaste. The company also operates businesses that connect a network of experts, including animal caretakers and trainers, as well as distributing pet stem cell solutions.
Following the acquisition of SOL Corporation, the main SOLCOPET product lines will be gradually introduced to Pawpet. In addition, the company plans to launch within the year a new service that combines its expert network with personalized care based on pet registration data and pet owner counseling content, which is currently under preparation.
Furthermore, Pawpet plans to expand its business by popularizing pet artificial intelligence (AI) home cam solutions and launching personalized healthcare solutions based on pet data collected from living spaces.
Choi Baul, CEO of Cosmos Effect, said, “Through this acquisition, we not only expand our service areas but also aim to build a comprehensive management environment for pets and their owners. We will continue to advance our services to become a super app for pet life care.”
