On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its entry into India, Hyundai Motor Group is stepping up its social contribution activities, focusing on serving as a bridge connecting Korea and India.
Hyundai Motor Group announced on April 17 that it will further expand its activities across various sectors this year to take deeper root in Indian society and spread a more favorable perception of Korea.
In the healthcare sector, Hyundai Motor plans to expand and integrate its ongoing local cancer treatment support campaign in India, 'Hope for Cancer,' with its global project 'Hyundai Hope on Wheels' starting in the second half of this year.
This initiative aims to provide more systematic support for local cancer patients who are unable to receive proper treatment due to poor medical infrastructure.
Hyundai Motor is also supporting the strengthening of local research capabilities by establishing the 'Hyundai Cancer Genomics Center,' a research facility dedicated to identifying the causes of cancer, at IIT Madras, one of India's premier national universities.
In addition, the company will expand its 'Sparshi Sanjeevani' program, which offers telemedicine and mobile medical services.
Hyundai Glovis is also contributing to improved medical accessibility and treatment environments for local residents by donating essential medical equipment such as oxygen saturation monitors, thermal detectors, and wheelchairs to Sriperumbudur Government Hospital near Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation has also worked to bridge medical gaps in the Chennai area through support for medical expenses for the underprivileged and the 'OnDream Chennai Hope Medical Project,' a medical workforce capacity-building program.

Kia will continue its 'Educational Lab & scholarship Support' program, a technical education initiative launched in 2024. This year, the company plans to establish design studios, prototyping spaces, and educational facilities within technical schools, and award scholarships to outstanding students.
Additionally, Kia will continue operating the 'Buckle Up' program, a traffic safety education program for youth. 'Buckle Up' is tailored to India's highly congested traffic environment, offering education and installing collision prevention and impact-absorbing structures.
Until last year, Hyundai Mobis focused on providing scholarships and improving educational infrastructure, but starting this year, it will go further by installing engineering labs in local schools for youth and offering engineering education to students. The company will also establish kindergartens to enhance the educational environment for children in rural areas who are excluded from early childhood education.
Hyundai Wia has implemented projects to install women's restrooms in middle and high schools in the Sengadu area to prevent disease among local women and promote girls' education. The company has also built public restrooms in community facilities and provided women's products, hand towels, and hand wash. Hyundai Wia plans to continue expanding its social contribution activities to support women's education and health in the region.
Hyundai Glovis, Hyundai Steel, and Hyundai Transys have also improved educational environments locally by renovating aging schools and supplying drinking water, and are considering additional support measures in the future.

Over the past three years, Hyundai Steel has sent its Dream Overseas Volunteer Group to Chennai and Anantapur, where they have provided educational services such as teaching Korean language and science, as well as organizing cultural exchange events including taekwondo, traditional games, and K-pop performances.

In India, Hyundai Motor is supporting emerging artists through its 'Art for Hope' project, which has expanded its scale to 50 teams this year. Since its launch in 2021, Art for Hope has provided creative grants and exhibition opportunities to dozens of artists and groups every year for the past six years.
Hyundai Motor Group is also active in environmental social contribution efforts in India.
Among its most notable environmental initiatives in India is the 'Ecogram' resource circulation program, which has been running since 2021. Through this program, Hyundai Motor has established local waste recycling facilities and is converting food waste into biogas for electricity production.
A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, "Through our social contribution activities in India, we aim to contribute to the local community and further strengthen the relationship between Korea and India. We will continue to grow together with the local society and strive to become a brand loved by the Indian people."
