Total Prize Pool of 61.7 Million Euros, Up 10% from Last Year

The men's and women's singles champions at this year's French Open tennis tournament will each receive prize money of 2.8 million euros (about 4.9 billion won).


The French Open organizing committee announced on April 16 (local time), "This year's total prize money is set at 61.7 million euros, and the men's and women's singles champions will each receive 2.8 million euros." The committee added, "The total prize pool has increased by 10% compared to last year."

Last year, the French Open's total prize money was 56,352,000 euros, and the men's and women's singles winners each received 2.55 million euros (about 4.4 billion won). Even players who lose in the first round of the men's and women's singles main draw will receive 87,000 euros, which is approximately 150 million won.


The French Open, the second major tournament of the season, will open on May 24 at Roland-Garros in the western part of Paris, France. Last year, Carlos Alcaraz (ranked 2nd, Spain) and Coco Gauff (ranked 3rd, United States) won the men's and women's singles titles, respectively.
