Gyeonggi Province to Hold Capacity-Building Training for Gender Violence Support Workers Until July 3

Gyeonggi Province will conduct capacity-building training for workers in the field of gender violence (sexual violence) support until early July.

On April 17, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Gender Violence Integrated Response Center announced that they would expand participation in the capacity-building training to include not only existing victim support workers but also staff from the City and County Immediate Hope Teams, university human rights centers, and youth support organizations, which serve as front-line response agencies for gender violence. This initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of all workers involved in gender violence victim support.

The capacity-building training will take place in a total of 10 sessions from April 17 through July 3.

The main topics of the training include: ▲Gender sensitivity and prevention of secondary victimization ▲Investigation and trial procedures and interpretation of the latest case law ▲Tailored support strategies for different types of cases, such as digital sexual violence and stalking ▲Crisis intervention for victim trauma, among others.

The final, 10th session of the training (on July 3) will include a screening of the film "Master of the World" and a GV (Guest Visit) session featuring director Yoon Ga-eun and others, offering an opportunity to understand victims' narratives from an artistic perspective and to encourage communication among support workers.

Lee Sung-eun, head of the Gyeonggi Gender Violence Integrated Response Center, stated, "The expertise of front-line workers is the first safety net encountered by victims and is key to their recovery. We will do our utmost to broaden the scope of responders and strengthen their professionalism so that an integrated and seamless support system can operate effectively."
