Yongin Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Sang-il Lee) appointed singer and guitarist Dooheon Lee, known as the vocalist and guitarist of the popular 1980s band "Daseotsongarak (Five Fingers)," as the city’s promotional ambassador on April 16 in the mayor's office.

원본보기 아이콘Starting with this appointment ceremony, Dooheon Lee will serve as the face of Yongin Special City for two years, participating in official city events and various festivals, and engaging in a range of promotional activities to highlight the charms of Yongin until April 15, 2028.
Presenting the letter of appointment, Mayor Sang-il Lee commented, "Promotional ambassador Dooheon Lee is a representative singer of Korea who has moved the nation with numerous hit songs since the 1980s, and as a proud citizen who has lived in Yongin for many years, he has shown deep affection for the community. I look forward to his significant contributions in enhancing the dignity and brand value of Yongin Special City through diverse cultural and artistic activities."
Dooheon Lee is known as the vocalist and guitarist of the 1980s rock band "Daseotsongarak (Five Fingers)" and as a lyricist and composer who created many timeless hits such as "Red Roses on Wednesday," "Balloon," and "Dawn Train."
He currently teaches the arts to university students and is also active as a lecturer for various companies, demonstrating his versatility across different fields.
Yongin City expects that, as Dooheon Lee has lived in Yongin and successfully expressed his music and philosophy within the community, he will further elevate the city’s cultural and artistic stature.
Meanwhile, with this appointment, Yongin City now has a total of 14 promotional ambassadors. The city appointed actor Min Woo-hyuk in July 2023, followed by singer Kim Kyungho and broadcaster Yoon Jungsoo in November 2024. Other ambassadors include broadcasters Kim Mihwa and Ahn Jaemo, national snowboarder Yoo Seungeun, YouTubers Choi Changhoon and Chae Seha, and singers Jeon Young-rok, Han Nam-seok, Lee Jung-sun, Lee Cheol-sik, and Park Hyun-ho.
